We like several areas in the Reno-Sparks area that we think are pretty awesome and provide the best lighting and color, especially in the fall. Here's some info to help you decide where you'd like your photos taken.

  • Lake Tahoe has become a new favorite with our clients, in particular, high school seniors. There are a couple options for you to consider, including the trail on Mount Rose Highway as you head toward the north shore. Sand Harbor is our favorite spot for the lake as there's a lot of beach to use and the picnic area is surrounded by trees, which make for great photos.
  • The University of Nevada, Reno, campus has the best combination of elements that capture the beauty of the area. Tall trees, a gorgeous pond, the quad and tons of brick make for some fantastic photos!
  • Just across the street is Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, home to the Hot Air Balloon Races. This park has the best combination of colors and truly captures the fall season.
  • Bartley Ranch Regional Park has a wonderful old school house and provides a nice, rustic setting if you're looking for that Western feel.
  • If you want the Sierra Mountains as your backdrop, then look no further than Crystal Peak Park in Verdi. Along with the mountains, you have the Truckee River, an open field and several trees that look really nice in the fall!
  • If you journey back toward Reno on I-80 and take the Fourth Street exit, you'll end up at Mayberry Park. This location runs alongside the Truckee River, has a couple of great bridges and enormous trees along the bike path.
  • Galena Creek Regional Park is tucked in the forest as you drive up the East side of the Sierra Mountains and has too many trees to count. The park also has an amazing pond and several creeks.
  • As you venture through Sparks and get into Spanish Springs, Wingfield Springs (especially the Red Hawk golf course) and Lazy 5 Regional Park offer a variety of scenery. Small creeks, tall willows and, of course, towering trees blend in very well as they change colors during the season.
